Prestige Hotel Awards 15th March 2020
Ben Cruachan Inn fought off some stiff competition to be voted Scotland’s Best Pet Friendly Hotel, and our manager Cameron Hill was awarded Highly Commended in the general manager category.  This is another great accolade for the Ben Cruachan Inn, which already has awards for the Best Gastropub and Central Scotland, the Best New Food and Drink Business, and the Green Tourism Silver Award.
Our manager Cameron Hill has been recognised for his attentive, knowledgeable and professional service and for leading our fantastic team. Cameron has brought lots of new ideas to the business including making us super pet friendly.
We have always sought to be dog friendly – we love dogs and our customers love bringing their dogs with them when they come to visit.  We have run a dog of the month competition for the last 12 months, where customers post pictures of their four legged friend enjoying a visit to the Inn, and each month our staff team vote for their favourite.  We have just awarded our dog of the year from the monthly winners to Mags – who gets to bring her owners for an overnight stay.
When dogs visit the Ben Cruachan Inn, they can expect free doggy biscuits, water bowls and a lot of fuss from our staff.  If they are really good their humans might even buy them a doggy beer.      

   Ben Cruachan Inn win at Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards
We scooped our second food and drinks award of the year winning the category Best New Business at the Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards.  The annual Awards were held in the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness on Friday 15thNovember and was attended by the cream of Highlands and Islands food and drinks industry.
The Inn, which reopened its doors after a full refurbishment in 2017, has grown its culinary reputation for high quality, locally sourced food.  Co-owners Ian Irvine and Tracey Peedle attended the Awards dinner and were absolutely delighted to bring the Best New Business Award back to Loch Awe against some stiff competition.
Tracey commented, “We are a definitively Highland business, based on beautiful Loch Awe and proud to use local ingredients and drinks in our bar restaurant, create local jobs and showcase all that Argyll has to offer.  To win Best New Business at the Highland and Islands Food and Drinks Awards couldn’t be more exciting because it highlights exactly what we set out to do when we began the refurbishment to bring the Inn back to life after years of closure”.
The Food and Drink Awards judges said of the Inn, “We felt this entry was optimistic, exciting, and forward thinking. The business has ideas and examples of excellence and it knows what the market wants and needs. It has a unique offering with quirky but professional marketing that stands out from the crowd. The business is growing and has a clear vision to be the very best – an inspiring story.”

Gastro pub of the year for Ben Cruachan Inn
Ben Cruachan Inn scooped a win at the 6th Annual Food Awards Scotland. The Awards were held in the Marriot Hotel, Glasgow on Monday 26th August 2019 and recognised professionals and establishments with a range of awards and accolades from across the vibrant Scottish food scene.
Ben Cruachan Inn has grown its culinary reputation for high quality, locally sourced food and has become a popular destination. Members of the team behind the award-winning Inn attended the awards dinner.  Co-owner Tracey Peedle commented, “We were so pleased to have been nominated by the public as it shows that people are really enjoying what we set out to create by bringing the pub back to life after many years of disrepair. To walk away with the win of Gastro Pub of the Year for the Central Scotland region came as a fantastic surprise and we couldn’t be more delighted”.
Co-owner Steve McDonald added, “These awards celebrate the very best in the Scottish food industry, the servers, the specialists and suppliers. There’s so much team effort behind what makes Ben Cruachan Inn tick, from our incredibly hardworking staff to the choices made on the menu, suppliers and more. Green Tourism Silver Award
From our earliest days at the Inn, we have worked hard to build a business with a clean, green, environmentally friendly mission at its heart.
In 2018 we were awarded the Silver Green Tourism Award. This award level means that we work responsibly, ethically and sustainably, contributing to our community, reducing our impact on the environment with an aim to be accessible and inclusive to all visitors and staff.  Read more about our award level.
