Our countryside has never been so exciting to explore! – Whether its a short hill walk, a longer trip into the mountains or a day canoeing, we are in the perfect
location to act as your base camp.

Take a drive, go for a walk, take the train but be prepared to take some photos!

Climb some mountains:
Walk in the woods:

There are no shortage of stunning woodland, open cover and loch side
walks easily accessible from our location.

Trail biking:

There are plenty of exciting cycle routes taking in Kilchurn Castle, Loch Awe House and Cruachan power station.

Skiing:

Scotland has some of the best skiing in Europe. Visit Scotland website has
all you need to know about skiing in Glencoe and throughout Scotland.

Fishing:

Loch Awe boasts excellent fishing with excellent water quality and a thriving population of fish from Trout to Perch to Pike. Can you beat the record for the largest Pike landed at 35.5lbs?

Kintail Birds of Prey:

Over 25 native British birds of prey are on display in stunning grounds overlooking the longest freshwater loch in Scotland. Hold Heidi the golden eagle, feed the peregrine falcons, fly Snoopy the Barn Owl and Dotty the Kestrel & much more!

Boating, Canoe or Kayak:

Loch Awe is a wonderful Loch to explore for experienced boaters, canoeists, and kayakers with easy launch and access from sites near the Ben Cruachan Inn.  We MUST stress Loch Awe can be dangerous and swimming is not recommended. Life preservers should be worn at all times and only those with experience should venture out into the waters unguided.

Historic sites:

One thing Scotland has in abundance is historic sites! Check out the attractions and websites for more info below:

Distilleries and breweries:

We recommend a visit to our local farm brewers, Fyne Ales and sell their produce in the bar.  They run Brewery Tours for the public to see how they make such delicious ales.

Go inside the mountain or visit the dam:

Hidden deep within the mountain of Ben Cruachan on the shores of Loch Awe is Cruachan Hydro Dam.  Well worth a visit offering a fascinating visitor centre and tours of the hydropower station.

Golf:

We have a number of lovely courses around us including the picturesque Dalmally Golf Club, without doubt one of Scotland’s little golfing treasures!

Or go exploring!

We really are in the perfect location to go exploring! Why not visit some of the following attractions:
Glencoe visitors Centre, Castle Stalker, Inveraray, Oban, Loch Lomond National Park, Kilmartin Museum of Archaeology.
